Guernsey Cove Parlour Productions PEI recording studio.
Based in a century old farmhouse overlooking Northumberland Strait in Prince Edward Island, Guernsey Cove Parlour Productions has produced more than 125 new recordings by Island artists since 1992 in the PEI recording studio.
World class artists from the Charlottetown Festival, Stephanie Cadman, Julain Molnar, and Marlane O'Brien recorded their solo CDs in the parlour at Guernsey Cove.
Doug Riley, Canada's "Dr. Music", used our mobile services to record a couple of projects. "My friend Gordon Belsher (from Guernsey Cove, PEI) set up his board right amongst us in the music room and did a marvelous job of capturing the spontaneous essence of what transpired – he was truly a part of the ensemble."
The studio is very proud to have added to Doug's legacy before his untimely passing in August 2007.
A studio highlight was recording the anthem for the Special Olympics Winter Games which took place in Charlottetown in 2004. The recording used a total of 76 instrumental and vocal tracks to produce.
"Just Watch Me / Je m'envole" (composed by Gordon Belsher with French lyrics by Réal Pelletier) featured vocals by Savannah Belsher and Réal Pelletier, with major contributions from Richard Wood on fiddle, Brad Fremlin on percussion, and Timothy Cummings on the highland bagpipes. The song was performed at the opening gala which was broadcast live on the TSN TV channel.
Here at Guernsey Cove Parlour, we're committed to delivering recording studio results above and beyond expectations.
We believe our clients will back that up!
Meet Gordon
At the heart of Guernsey Cove Parlour Productions PEI studio is recording artist/engineer Gordon Belsher. With several years of performing and recording experience, Gordon has developed an exceptional ability to capture the very best work of both beginner and veteran artists alike.
"We pride ourselves on being a professional facility for the more experienced performer as well as a welcoming experience for budding artists."
Gordon and his wife, Charlene, became well known throughout the region as the founding members of the Island group "Jar O' Comfort" back in 1978. (Charlene operated The Old General Store in Murray River until 2021.)
From 1995 to 2001, and then from 2008 to 2019, Gordon toured across Canada and around the world with Island fiddler Richard Wood. From 2002 to 2007, and since 2020 he also tours regularly with Cynthia MacLeod.
