Prince Edward Island, cradle of Canada,
The dreams of our forefathers so long ago
For a new generation of daughters and sons
Building a nation, this place we call home
John A. Macdonald led a small delegation,
“Confederation is the future”, said he
Sharing their vision, they laid the foundation,
Now proudly we stand, the True North strong and free
Prince Edward Island, cradle of Canada
The dreams of our forefathers so long ago
For a new generation of daughters and sons,
The birth of a nation, this place we call home
There’s stories and songs about fishers and farmers,
And green rolling fields, quilted bed of red clay,
Kind souls and strong hands, looking out for your neighbour,
Never wanting to leave, always longing to stay
Prince Edward Island, cradle of Canada
The dreams of our forefathers so long ago
For a new generation of daughters and sons,
Building a nation, a place to call home.
Building a nation, this place we call home.
Prince Edward Island, cradle of Canada
Facing the future with each passing day,
There’s a new generation of daughters and sons
Never wanting to leave, and longing to stay
Prince Edward Island, cradle of Canada
The dreams of our forefathers so long ago
For a new generation of daughters and sons,
Building a nation, this place we call...
Prince Edward Island, cradle of Canada
The dreams of our forefathers so long ago
For a new generation of daughters and sons,
Building a nation, this place we call home
For the birth of a nation, this place we call
Prince Edward Island the cradle of Canada
